Herman "Mac" D. McClain, 56, of Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Aberdeen Health & Rehab, with Tracy by his side. 

His memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Father Shane D. Stevens officiating. 

A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center. 

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. 

Mac's family requests that casual dress be worn for the service. 

Herman Daniel McClain was born November 14, 1958, in Anderson, SC to Bert and Janie (Argo) McClain. He attended school and graduated from Seneca High School in Seneca, SC. Mac served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Forrestal from September 1981 through July of 1989. 

On February 18, 1983, Mac was united in marriage to Tracy Allbee in Aberdeen. The couple made their home in Westville, NJ, Jacksonville, FL and Millington, TN. After receiving his honorable discharge from the Navy, they made their home in Aberdeen, where he was employed in the construction industry and also drove truck. Mac continued to reside in Aberdeen until the time of his death. 

Family was important to Mac. He took great pride in his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. 

He is survived by his spouse, Tracy McClain of Aberdeen; son, Ryan (Jeannette) McClain of Aberdeen; and daughter, Amanda McClain of Aberdeen; three grandchildren: Brooklyn and Emerson McClain and Audrey McClain, plus one grandchild on the way; brother-in-law, Gordon Smith of Starr, SC; mother-in-law, Marge Allbee of Aberdeen, sister-in-law, Deb Underberg (Dale Jensen) of Aberdeen; brothers-in-law: Bill (Tammey) Allbee of Aberdeen and Barry (Darcy) Allbee of Poulsbo, WA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Mac was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Linda McClain, and father-in-law, William Allbee. 

Mac's family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU Nurses and Respiratory Therapists who cared for Mac while he was a patient at the V.A. Hospital in Sioux Falls.
