Michael Watson Mimms, 40, of 155 Bryson Road, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002.
A native of Oconee County, he was a son of Earle Watson and Louise McCall Mimms. Attended Cheohee Baptist Church.
Survivors: A brother, Daniel Paul Mimms of Seneca; and a sister, Julia Grace Mimms of Charlotte, N.C.
Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. today at Davenport Funeral Home, with service at 2 p.m. Burial: Cheohee Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mike was like a little brother to me. He and my brother Wayne were very close friends once. I love them both. He visited me in Rock Hill a few times, the last on his way home ~ 2001 and we had a good talk. We talked on the phone a few times since the last visit. I didn't get to see him again.I will always remember Mike fondly.

I remember that Mike could go home Friday clean shaven -- and show up Monday with a beard! I was so jealous. The girls absolutely swooned around him. Good guy, lots of fun. I hate that I'll never see him again.
