Suzanne Culbertson, 59, died Monday, June 20, 2005, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

A native of Greenville, S.C., daughter of the late Wylie J. and Rubye M. Culbertson, she graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1963, and from Clemson University, Class of 1967.

Following graduation, she joined the Peace Corps and taught English as a Foreign Language in Algeria. After the Peace Corps she taught English, French, and Art at Seneca High School and retired in 1999.

Ms. Culbertson was the owner of Aljazhir Afghans and Yorkies, was a long-time active member of the Greenville Kennel Club, and was a founding member of the Clemson Kennel Club. In 2005, she was honored with a lifetime membership in the Clemson Kennel Club.

She is survived by a brother, Norman A. Culbertson of Rock Hill; and nine nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, West.
