If you every had a chance to really know sgt.Golden then you were truly blessed. I had him during my freshman year at SHS in ROTC. Although I didn't stay in ROTC after that year I did stay in contact with him through out my years as best I could. He was an admirable man to have known and I am a better man today from knowing him. Rest in peace ole warrior. Mike Hardy

I went to see Sgt. Golden a few months prior to him being placed in Hospice in Anderson. It was really great to sit down with him and talk about times in R.O.T.C. he was wanting to get the members of the Rifle Team together again for a cook out. If I had known then that was the last time I would see him I would have come back more. He was like a second father to me.
