Susan Morgenstern (Shecket)

Susan Morgenstern (Shecket)

Susan Morgenstern Shecket passed away peacefully with her husband Bill at her side on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. She spent her last weeks surrounded by family and friends expressing their love, gratitude and grief and remembering the wonderful times had together. As we move forward and continue on with our lives, Sue’s memory and spirit will carry on within us – she is part of us.    Sue was a loving Wife to Bill, Mother to Sarah, Nana to Mason and Hunter, Sister to Stanley, Renee and Donald and friend to so many. She was an avid horsewoman and bred and raised many horses throughout her life. She helped birth her current horse Tazo and he was her joy and passion to the end. She was a mentor to many aspiring riders and a valued board member of the Lake Washington Saddle Club. Her wisdom, experience and companionship were enjoyed and appreciated by many.    In her lifetime Sue taught preschool children, supported children and families thru her work at the YMCA and CASA, coached seniors on computers, was the webmaster for Renee’s Garden and helped special needs children experience the joy of horseback riding. Sue had an amazing green thumb and her beautiful cottage garden will continue to be appreciated for years to come.    Sue was strong and adventurous and inspired others with her enthusiasm and spirit. Her body may be gone but we all hold within us something from her. Whether you knew Sue for only a short time or a lifetime she lives on in you. Although she is gone, her memory will never be gone – she is part of us.    An open house memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26th from 1pm to 4pm at the Shecket Home: 1214 25th Ave. E, Seattle, Washington 98112. Donations in Sue’s honor may be made to Little Bit Theraputic Riding Center, www.littlebit.org.
