Steve and I had a mutual interest in diseases of the intestinal tract, although I was focused only on the malignant diseases.  I had the opportunity to meet a number of his patients and on one occasion to share in the care of a patient.  He was loved by his patients and his students.  He was an excellent clinician and cared about his patients.  He is sorely missed at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children
