I'm so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. We were able to reconnect at our 50th reunion, and I really enjoyed catching up with him. Great guy.

Nooo! This is terrible news! I met Danny for lunch in San Carlos a year and a half ago and at the time he was fine. It was great to see him after being out of touch since high school. He was happy and brimming with life and we spent time comparing and contrasting our career paths. If nothing else, he was incredibly resourceful. We were in touch off and on since then via email, mostly messages from him about bands I needed to see, but I had no idea he was ailing. Very sad, He was a mensch. -- Elliott Negin, March 2, 2024

My earliest memories of Dan go back to Lomond when he moved in I'm guessing third or fourth grade. Think he joined us in "Safety Patrol"  with Ira, kick Kane Bruce Warren so many others and of course only the boys did the outside while the girls had the opportunity to instill "Courtesy " inside our hallowed hallways.  I can't say he was as always first pick but when you're up against such athletic stars as Dave Hexter, Cathy Knight, David Longo, Dave Schwartz, Mark Moxley, Ritchie Ashford, Peggy Knight and Bruce Warren, Dan  still got into every game at baseball or football depending on the season at the sacred grounds of Triangle Park. We moved away after 6th grade,  I went to Woodbury, Dan to Byron and we barely saw each other in high school  I can see him in the Shaker halls, he was generally a smiling, positive ball of energy with flowing curly brown hair and a zest for life. I'll miss you my friend

The trasition of Daniel is heartbreaking. I reconnected with him right before our 50th reunion, and it was like we had not skipped a beat. When I saw him in San Francisco walking toward me it was like we were meeting in the hall at Sharker right before or after class (all fun and smiles). We had a wonderful time visiting, sharing life stories and our hopes for retirement. We maintained contact and totally enjoyed the reunion. Last October, he called to share he had not been feeling well and had even gone to the emergency room to seek attention. He came to learn It was a battle too big to overcome. Two months later just shy of the new year he transitioned. He was a light and full of life, energy and love. He treasured new experiences and took every opportunity to show how he cared for those in his life. I think about him often and especially at this time. His birthday is this month. Let's continue to wish the best for each other. Life is short and it seems to be getting shorter. Peace and Blessings to all.

Very sad news.

I didn't know Danny well back in the day, but

his upbeat energy always resonated with me.

It wasn't until the Friday night gathering of our

50th Reunion that we got to reconnect and I'm grateful for that.

I'm sorry to hear about another one of our classmates passing away.  Dan and I connected at our 50th reunion, and I'm glad we were able to do that.  Life is becoming shorter and shorter with each passing day--let's all appreciate each day that we're given. My thoughts remain with Dan's family.

Hello Classmates,

I was honored to have attended Daniel Wolfsohns Celeration of Life on March 2, 2024 in Redwood City Cailfornia. The event was hosted by his 2 children Emily and Sam, 2 very fine people, that shared their deepest and warmest thoughts. Many guest speakers followed with much insight, praise and accounts of a life well lived.

Daniel approached everything with great enthusiasm. We were great friends in High School, and for about 5 years after. We hadn't spoken much for the next 40 years and were thrilled to see each other again at the 50th reunion.

Happily, Daniel came to visit my wife and I in Las Vegas in July 2023. Our time together was fun and vibrant. We had reconnected and kept in touch. I am so grateful for that.

Danny was really enthused about the 50th high school reunion, and had a great time attending. He had another high school reunion in Chicago around the same time that he attended after ours, and he said ours was WAY better. He had a GREAT time attending ours. He had such a good time, he wanted to hold a 51st reunion! Thanks again to all of you who put together such a great event. Sadly, I guess we'll have to hold the next one with him on the other side.

I only knew him for a brief time in my senior year, but somehow the friendship endured to the present. I'm thankful for the time we were able to spend during the last reunion - Last Time Around [?] [Buffalo Springfield album title anyone?] . He left us way too soon. "We all shine on - on and on and on and on" as John Lennon once sang. Shine on, Daniel, and may you rest in peace.
