Ron G. Dye, 55, of Overland Park, Kan., died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the Porter Funeral Home, Lenexa, Kan., graveside services will immediately follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Ron was born April 30, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Dr. Pete and Lurleine Dye. He is survived by his children, Kyle and Courtney; and a brother, Gary Dye, Overland Park. Pamela Hataway (Hook)
I knew his parents first before knowing Ronnie. His Dad was "Santa" at the Optimist Club and I have fond memories as far back as Kindergarten of going to lunch to see Santa. Ronnie was a very jovial guy, laughing and having fun all the time. He was a nice friend of my brother Jim and was always nice to our family including our Grandparents, Pat and Minnie.
