Featured Classmates

It has been so suprising, but not unexpected considering the great people in our class, how many of you have undertaken and accomplished such interesting, and great things in your lives. Periodically, we will try to feature some of these classmates. If you know of a classmate that should be featured for what they are doing in their lives, i.e. charities, travels, or maybe an unusual job or life history, let us known and we will get them included in this page.

Irene Emsley (Renie Favre) - "Gabriel House": Renie and her husband, pastor Ted Favre, have not let the retirement bug get them. They have started a mission in Mexico called Gabriel House where they take care of severally handicapped children (http://www.gabrielhouseofmexico.com/video2.htm). To read more about Renie and Gabriel House, their news letters, and how you might help them in their mission, click on this link below to their website: http://www.gabrielhouseofmexico.com/.

The following is Renie's latest email.

We wanted to share with you the unexpected blessing through Brother Jorge from the discipleship school. He is a gifted artist and has used his talent to adorn the walls of Gabriel House with scriptures and illustrations of God’s Word.  It makes the walls a reminder to the kids of God’s love for them.  Everyone’s spirits have been lifted.

February and the first half of March is the worst part of the rainy, cold season here. Right now the streets are muddy, and we are having rain storms with wind.  But here at Gabriel House we are cozy, warm and dry thanks to all the warm clothing and blankets the people of God gave us for Christmas.  We are so grateful to God for your generosity.  We sprung a few leaks but have gas heaters and are thankful for the nice dry heat they provide.

Some groups plan to come this summer to replace the old roofs on the buildings. When that is finished we live in a perfect climate for solar energy heating. Our next prayers will be focused on solar units, so there will be no concerns about the hazards of heating with gas space heaters.

Many of the poor are suffering with leaking roofs and cold homes because once they are wet and it is impossible to get dry and warm without any kind of heat.  If groups are coming down, blankets and tarps are needed.

God has been faithful; even with a waning economy we are only slightly in the red as far as our workers’ wages are concerned. We praise the Lord for our workers who are faithful to our children and to our ministry. They suffer through the lean times just to be a blessing to us.  Please join us in thanking the Lord for them and their loving hearts.
