Tonya May Claussen died on Tuesday, August 4, in Tacoma. She was 28 years old and had lived in Shelton her whole life. She was born on December 1, 1980 in Olympia to Randy and Linda (West) Claussen. She attended school in Shelton and later became a homemaker. She was employed for a few years as a clerical assistant. She also volunteered at the Moose lodge as a drink server. She attended the Skokomish Community Church and was family orientated. Her family said that she was very outgoing and loving with a bit of a mischievous side. She enjoyed camping, swimming, drawing and artwork. Her biggest passion was her children and family. She had many friends as well. She was an advocate of organ donation and loved animals. Surviving are mother and father Linda and Randy Claussen of Shelton; children Skyler Claussen-Laney and Aidian King of Shelton; sisters Brandy Claussen and Mindy Claussen of Shelton; and grandparents David and Ethel West of Shelton and Harold Claussen of Shelton. Preceding her in death is grandmother Janice Claussen in 1999.
