good songs coming up every time you log on. Nice job Kime.
I hope some more people will post stories and memories of our high school years. How about this for a topic. Will folks post some stories of famous and infamous talent shows in the gym.
One I remember which was painful was Lonnie Barret I think was his name from the grade above us. He was an enthusiastic member of the football squad although he never really got to play much. One day at a talent show he got up to sing Desperado from the Eagles and he forgot the cassette tape of the music. He had nerve and decided to sing it a'capella. As he tried to get through it, not remembering all the words and pitchy, some people started laughing. It was hard to watch. Later an episode of Seinfeld came out featuring a joke around that song. I always thought of poor Lonnie.
I also remember good ole Paul Brown and his brother doing a country number. Their band was called the Royal Flush. I remember thinking, I wish they had come up with another band name that didn't have the word flush in it. When I read the name of the band, the first thing that popped in my head was not a poker hand but something else. However, when they played, Paul and Randy did a good job. They had more guts than me. Thanks for the memories.
