Randall was very intelligent and had chosen a career path in medicine before he became sick. His illness forced him to change his college choice from Norman, Okla. where he'd been accepted for studying medicine to Hendrix College in Conway. Randall's illness progressed but he fought hard to remain with us as long as possible. He gave us years of happiness and as his youngest sister, years of trauma! Most of my friends will remember his constant pestering, and of course, eaves-dropping on our phone calls.

Through it all, he'd have given his life for any of us but we could not take his place in what God had chosen would be the path his life would take. Randall always had lots of friends and was an avid photographer. He loved to play tennis, water ski and travel and was quite the GQ-type in his last years, even pre-arranging his funeral wake to wear his Armani suit and $600 shoes. I wish some of his style would brush off on my boys!

He was quick-witted and outspoken, but never based his choice of friends on prejudices of any kind. I have never known anyone like my brother, and wish that my boys had been old enough to know him like I did. He was the most caring person that I've ever known.

Randall's death was the hardest thing I've ever faced in my life as I'd had him in my life every day until that day. I will always remember him as the smiling, mischievious brother and I still talk to him daily (I know he hears me).

Few people are here only for a short while and leave more of a mark than those who are here for a hundred years. Randall was one of those few.

With loving memories,
His sister, Kristin Webb Walker

Kristen......I had no idea that randall had been sick, much less passed away!  I was reading your article and got tickled when you said most of his friends would remember him by his pestering...YESSSSSS, dang that boy could be nerve racking, lol!  At the same time, there was no one as sincere, and sweet!  I knew he was smart, but I didn't know he was all that!  His accomplishments sound phenominal.  Thank you for sharing, and know that he will be missed by all of us from our class.... Randall was always smiling, so this is how I want to leave you in this note.. "smiling"!  Have a wonderful day!

Tami Curry :-)
