Meliana Drake (Gibbs-Talbert)

Meliana Carol Drake Gibbs-Talbert of Sheridan, Arkansas was born December 10, 1969 in Pine Bluff, the daughter of the Linda Sue Holloway Drake Brewer and the late Jesse Vaughn Drake. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and was a 1988 graduate of Sheridan High School.

Meliana enjoyed her life as a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She actively supported the Sheridan community through sponsorship of many youth and sports activities. As co-owner of Shannon Talbert Logging and an avid sports fan, Meliana, lived her life to the fullest.

Meliana died suddenly due to complications of a brain aneursym on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Baptist Medical Center at the age of 34. Her death will allow several others to live as she chose to be an organ donor through the ARORA Foundation.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Gibbs, maternal grandfather, Wayne Holloway and her paternal grandparents, Lee and Lestie Drake. Survivors: Husband, Shannon Talbert of the home Daughters, Holly Gibbs, Corbin Talbert, Emery Talbert all of the home Mother and step father, Linda Sue Holloway Drake Brewer and Ernest Brewer of Sheridan: Sisters, Mindy Drake Hesse ( Charlie) of Mesquite, Texas Misty Drake Smith (Clyde) of Sheridan and a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 2:00 PM at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan with Bro. John Mooney and Bro. Danny Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Sheridan. Visitation: 5-8 PM Monday at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
