John was a very respected man. He died too young. His family has missed his presence over the years. It is very hard to lose a father and a husband so early in life. This was my experience also, as my Dad died at the age of only 42 years old. Faye Walker Young was a sweet friend of mine in high school. The family he left behind has still been in my thoughts over the years.
John was a good, Christian, husband, father and friend. He was a member of the Sherman Police Department and worked under my Dad. Many of you may know that he and I dated a few times (I still think he just wanted to meet my Dad .. LOL) before he found his soul mate and the love of his life, Faye Walker Young. Fortunately, she was a friend too, so I was able to keep in touch with them periodically. I once asked Faye why she hadn't remarried, she quickly replied, "John's shoes would be hard to fill!" I agree!
