Douglas Odell Erving passed away on January 24, 2022, in Denison, TX. He was born February 19, 1954, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Dolly F. Anderson and the late John Anderson, and to the late Odell and Marie Erving. He was a dedicated truck driver and worked for FFE for 40 years. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1972. Doug married the love of his life, Lucretia Jackson, on November 6, 1995, in Sherman.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Lucretia; mother, Dolly Anderson of Sherman; stepdaughter, Janice Harp of Denison; stepson Larry (Monica) Brinlee of Denison; sister-in-law Cheryl (Buzz) Cory of Bells, TX; nieces Tracey (Tammie) Walter of Cedar Hill, Amy Hewitt (Johnny Haskins) and children, Maegan and Dash Hewitt, Sherman and Sydnie Haskins of Denison; several grandchildren and great children and his fur baby, Princess.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Dennis; father and stepmother, Odell and Marie; stepfather, John Anderson; grandparents Floyd A. and Bessie E Karriker Bost; James and Jessie Smith, Preston Harp; and numerous aunts and uncles; as well as several of his four-legged fur babies.
A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
