My heart fell when I read this. Joan had a wonderful heart, my memories are of her always laughing. She was so gentle and kind, a wonderful spirit. I am sick at heart to know she didn't realize what a special person she was, and that I thought the world of her! I am guessing I am not alone. This tells me that we need to be letting people know how much we care, and that if we knew they needed a friend, we'd be so happy to be there for them. Joan was a good friend. We found out in high school that we were delivered by the same doctor in the same hospital one day apart. D.C. was a small city back then. I will always remember Joan.

Joan was in some of my classes. She was a wonderful person. I really liked her as a friend! So sorry to her loved ones.Just know you loved her!
