I was friends with Janice from Woodside Elementary (where she went steady with Bobby Brown), thru Montgomery Hills Junior High and then Blair. Some of us remember her as a teammate as she was a terrific athlete, especially in softball. She lived a short distance from my house on Dale Drive at Columbia Blvd.
Janice Henry, Janie Gloss, and Debbie Brown all had birthdays on May 9th, and to this day, on May 9th, I always think about them, and now that I know Janice has gone to Heaven, it just breaks my heart. She, Janie, and Debbie were very dear to me all through Woodside Elementary, Montgomery Hills Junior High and Montgomery Blair High School.
I remember Janice as a gentle and caring classmate. As an O'Deb she often was busy with fund raising projects helping others less fortunate or other worthy causes. She also loved to sail her family's sailboat weather permitting. I was fortunate to have her accept my requests for a dinner and a movie. My sophmore summer is a special memory because of her special laugh and sense of humor.
