To whom it may concern:  That sounds so formal.  This is Steve "Bullman" Howard, class of '68.  I am saddened to learn of the passing of Deborah Kline, who I knew as "Andy."  I remember when she transferred to Blair, from where, I do not remember.  I believe she lived in some towering apartments, kinda by "Georgia, extended."  She tolerated my pinching her cheeks, while she displayed her constant smile.  If anyone has "non-morbid" details about her post-Blair life, I would enjoy hearing about her endeavors.  If memory serves, which is definitely faulty, she was a main-squeeze of Dennis Tearney (?).  Bless Andy for the smiles she brought to our lives.

Karen:  Thank you very much for your information, although it is about losing a classmate of ours.   I appreciate your responding.  I had hoped she had had a full and exciting, contributory life.  In the brief, passing moments Andy and I talked, kidded... she was just FUN.  Again, thank you for responding...  Different note:  Rocky Mtn. National Park, outside the Town of Estes, now has a reservation system to reduce the horrendous crowds; I didn't know if you knew that.  Your friends/cousins have probably taken you around.  I would rec. MacGregor Ranch, a working ranch- preserve.. Animals, great hiking. Okay, limited space here.  Again, thank you.  Bull.

Andi and I were best friends in high school from the time she moved to Silver Spring MD until I got married and moved to Florida in 1972  She was very kind with a wonderful joyful smile and personality. we were inseparable! She moved to Silver Spring from North Carolina, I believe Greensboro and had  a  wonderful southern accent. We would trade clothes and spend the weekends at one another's house  I have tried to find her lots of times over the years but was unsuccessful.  so sorry to hear of her passing and apparently at a young age.  Fly high my friend.  you have been missed

Beth…. I was unaware that you and Andy were close. I am sorry for your loss.
Do you know anything about what Andy did after graduation or her Mother’s name?
I know that we were not close in high school but I am looking forward to getting to know you 55 years later.
I am planning a couple of days before or after our 55th reunion for a smaller group in Bethany Beach. I’m hoping you will join us.

Karen, Beth & Steve: I only knew Deborah in passing but am curious how she got the name Andy/Andi. Do either of you know and did she transfer in with that moniker?

Dear All:  Thurs.  10.20.22. This is Steve Bullman Howard, ... again.  I am sorry, I made a mistake.

Dennis Tierney sent me a very considerate, personal, email (not on the Blair website) and corrected me.  He never dated Andy Kline, as I had thought, and incorrectly posted on this Blair... message system.

He included his personal mailing address and, obviously, his email address.  I will decline to post it here, since I did not ask his permission to post it and, I don't know if he would want it disclosed... privacy, etc.  Erring on the side of caution, I want to respect a person's privacy.

He responded to my email within 24 hours!  Pretty good for teammates who hadn't seen each other since the last reunion, and our geriatric '67-'68 photo of our successful Blair Football Team.

I thank Karen Lagow and Beth Silvers for their comments and information.  Also, others who responded to me outside of this forum.

I have no idea how she got the name Andy, nor how she actually spelled it.  She presented herself to me as Andy, probably in a class.  She was one of those unique people who transferred to Blair, caught my eye (obvously), was always smiling, very friendly, attractive...

We all lose people, and while I knew her a short while, (we MIGHT have gone on one Coke Date (?),  another faulty memory) she was one of those people who you say, when learning of their passing, "Shoot; I wish I had known her better."  Perhaps this will cause some of us to reach out to others "of long-ago."

I will be out of town for two weeks.  Unlike others, I am challeneged by a paper and pencil.  I thank my new friend of one year, Joel Nathan, All-knowing-Blair Website person, for his assistance.

Steve Bullman Howard.

Loveland, CO.

Andi told me that she got the name Andi from a combination of her first and middle names.  An from her middle name, Ann and D from her first name Deborah

So sorry to hear about Andi's passing.  She was a lovely person. I used to visit her on my ways back and forth from U of MD.  She had an apartment off of University Blvd.  Just s wonderful free spirit, we drove down to DC for the May Day demonstrations. Totally gutted
