John Pellerzi was a good friend of mine beginning at Eastern Jr. High School. Unbeknownst to me, he was a talented artist (pencil drawings in the Eastern Literary Magazine). When we got to Blair we were in Joe Rice's Printshop class together. He was a mischievous lad. During our many adventures, we narrowly escaped trouble during our sophomore and junior years at Blair. His father, Leo Pellerzi, was the Deputy Secretary of State for the United States under John Mitchell. Leo was a career employee not involved in the Watergate shenanigans that sent Mr. Mitchell to prison. Leo deemed it necessary to send John to his brother's ranch in South Dakota to complete his senior year of High School. Thus, he didn't graduate with us in class of '68. Nonetheless, I'm sure that he crossed paths with many of our classmates and will be remembered by them.

John Pellerzi was a friend that I met when I came to Blair from Catholic school.  We were very close for a while.  He was a very sweet, attractive guy and a great dancer.  I am sorry to learn of his death, it looks like he built a good life in South Dakota, I am happy for that.  RIP old friend.
