So...Which Course is it?
Posted Monday, May 18, 2009 09:33 AM

You guys tell me...do you want Covington with the no tee time or do you want reserved tee times at Two Rivers?  Remember it doesn't matter to me as I will not be playing as I have other reunion things to tend to that day so it's really up to the consensus.

Here are the confirmed players right now:

Berger, Paul
Bousquet (Beatty), Julie
Campbell (Campbell), Rebecca
Dieger, Ritch
Fergen (Olberding), Nancy
Finken (Swinehart), Amy
Jones, Lee
Mahaney, Douglas
Mogren, John
Niles, Richard
Olson, Steven
Palmersheim, David
Puetz, John
Skinner, Douglas
Stabile, Jerome

Jim,

Really you are not golfing?? That seems wrong that you have set this all up and then don't get to play. What reunion related things do you have to do?? Can some of us help with those? I don't have anything planned that can't be juggled. Let me know

I say Two Rivers. We will put the reservation under some sort of alias, as to not get identified  for the slow play, bad language, throwing of golf clubs, drunkenness, ect. ect. ect....

Lee, Doug, Ritch

After reading Jim's description of both courses, I think I'll change my vote to Two Rivers as apparently it is SHORTER than Covington (didn't realize that).  However, if you guys want Covington, I'll go along with that.  Doesn't matter to me, really.

Jerry,

As for an Alias.  How about we all use, "Dan Conlon" as our sign in name?

Steve, Lee, Doug:

I am fine with either course as well.  I grew up playing the old "Boat Club" course so will be fun to play again. This way we get tee times.

Conlon would be my choice for our group name as well!

"Digger"

Speaking of Dan Conlon....why isn't he up here yet?  He came to the 20th, he damn well better be coming to this one.  Jerry or anyone, help me out here and get him up here.  I don't have an email address for him.

I have not played either, so I don't have an opinion.

I am just looking forward to the humidity and the bugs in Iowa! Let me know what course and what time and I will see you there.

Jim,

You make the call. I really think you need to play. I really, really think you should play on the same team as myself. Not that I enjoy winning, but, I really enjoy winning. See ya at the course, Suckers!!!

I vote Two Rivers, but will play anywhere. Are there any courses with no trees, ob, water hazards, or bunkers? I pick that one.

Add Bill Swinehart-I think his broken foot and ankle will be healed well enough to swing a golf club.  He will golf with Nancy Olberding and I.  Do they let 3 year olds tag along with their plastic clubs and wiffle balls?  I don't know if Nancy's husband will be recovered enough from shoulder surgery to golf but I bet he will try, knowing Dave.  Bill and I will be their handicap.  The last time I golfed at this course was the first year I started golfing and I lost quite a few balls, wore my rain suit and it took 6 hours for 18 holes with carts for a foursome and nobody was playing through.

Amy, I'm going to STRONGLY suggest that you don't bring your 3 yr old out that day.  It is early Saturday morning in late July and that is the busiest time to play on any course around here.  I would expect the round to last roughly 4 to 4 1/2 hours...any longer and you're playing too slow...of course if the people in front are slow then there's nothing you can do.  It's not that I don't want your family to have an enjoyable golf outing, it's just that there are times for kids on the course and early Saturday morning isn't one of them.  Sorry if it sounds like I'm being a prick but trust me on this one.
