FLOYD MONUMENT MINI GOLF COURSE

Who DIDN'T play there sometime during their younger years. Duane Powell ,Doug Greenleaf and I played there almost every night during the summer months. We even kept a running total of games played and the number of free games we earned by putting the ball in on the 19th hole. We would write down the totals on the wood that surrounded the window where you paid to play. We were pretty good since more than half our games were free. In later years, Bob Schmith, Bruce Stoddard, Jack Butler and I played many many times also. Our scores at times were low and we always tried to beat the lowest score set by someone else.  I came across some of those old score sheets a few weeks ago. Talk about keeping old things, I guess I'm guilty. The sand putting surface wasn't bad most of the time but there were times when you would get some idiots and their kids dragging the putter along the sand. You had to do some resurfacing first so you could at least get some kind of roll on your ball toward the area of the hole. We had fun but still took it somewhat serious as far as shooting a good game. IT WAS ALWAYS A CHALLENGE. Great fun and great times.

We sure enjoyed those golf games.....Never could putt on sand though.

Dug up this picture...Looks like the sun is real bright, but how can you putt with sun glasses on???

Those were the days-----younger, 45 pounds lighter and better looking. OOOHHH HOW WE'VE AGED. Sun glasses just made it more challenging, along with the sand and the sun. It looks like we are the only ones there. LOL
