Judy M. Mathers-Beaumont, 59, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Friday, July 12, 2002, due to complications following surgery.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. James United Methodist Church with Bernie Colorado officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Mathers-Beaumont was born April 11, 1943, in Sioux City, the daughter of Michael Jesse and Mabel Frances (Kroger) Mathers. She was raised in Sioux City. She attended and graduated from East High School.

She raised her children in Erie, Ill., then moved to Omaha, Neb., and then back to Sioux City in 1990 and had resided here since. She married Don Beaumont on April 7, 1994, in Elk Point, S.D. He died Nov. 24, 2000, in Sioux City. She was a homemaker.

She attended services at St. James United Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She loved cooking and was an avid dreamsicles collector.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Mark and Marcy Earl of Sterling, Ill., and Chris and Michelle Earl of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter and her husband, Jody and Scott A. Smith of Sioux City; two sisters, Shirley and her husband, Robert C. Hummel of Sloan, Iowa, and Jerry Holmes of Sioux City; two brothers and their wives, Dan and Loretta Mathers of Urbandale, Iowa, and Terry and Judy Mathers of Pella, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Kylie and Shelby Murphy, both of Las Vegas, Nichole, Brooke, Travis, Makayla and Morgan Smith, all of Sioux City, and Jessica and Ryan Earl, both of Sterling.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Wade Guffy, Kevin Hummel, Rick Holmes, Harley Holmes, Dick Chase and Andy Sieger.

Memorials may be directed to the family in her name.
