Ronald E. Poskevich, 61, of Sioux City died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at his residence with his family at his side following a two and one half year battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Larkin Northside Funeral Home, with the Rev. Delma Cline of McCook Lake Baptist Church officiating. The body will be cremated. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Ron was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Sioux City, the son of Zick and Bernice (Schlezes) Poskevich. He graduated from East High School in 1961. He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1964.

He married Bonnie "Scottie" Cole on June 27, 1992, in Sioux City. He worked all his life as a electrician. He owned and operated the Star Electric Co.

He enjoyed traveling, riding and working on motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife, Scottie Poskevich of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, Ronnie and Patti Poskevich and Ken and Trish Poskevich; two daughters, Nikki and her husband, Kary McMahon and Michelle Cole and he friend, John Young; his mother, Bernice Poskevich; three brothers and their wives, Jim and Sylvia Poskevich, Bob and Virginia Poskevich and Rick and Cathy Poskevich; four sisters, Mary and her husband, Ed Kieler, Phyllis and her husband, Galen Gran, Cheryl and her husband, Ron Brown and Linda Perrin; six grandchildren, MacKenzie, Emma, Chloe, Cade, Creighton and Carson; and a special aunt, Sally Poskevich.

He was preceded in death by his father, Zick Poskevich.
