Retired from 25 yrs as medical administrator 2000; worked 3 yrs construction in Louisiana on Katrina devastation; returned to medical billing and coding at FRRH in Eagle Lake, ME Mar 2012 (am loving it!); lived in Walla Walla, WA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; Sitka, AK (again, 1984-1989); Chepachet, RI; Lincoln and now Eagle Lake, Maine; grandmother for 22 yrs; living 17 miles from Canadian Border in Northern Maine near youngest daughter Morgan and grandchildren Payton and Paxton; addicted genealogist. Visited Sitka in 2010 for the first time in 8 yrs and was amazed at all the changes while so much still remains the same! Go by the name Kaycie.
I always have such a feeling of nostalgia when I return to Sitka (which is about every 8 yrs). It lives in my heart everywhere I live (and I've moved often). There are too many gray days for me, but I love the small town community. I believe that I will never feel truly at home anywhere else, but I keep moving and looking. There is nothing like being on the waters around Sitka and fishing!
My first marriage to Rick Coyle lasted 7 yrs (with 2 sons) mostly in Anchorage (Rick died in 2011). When that waned I move to Portland, OR and met my 2nd husband who has put up with me for 35 yrs! (He has awards for that!) He had two children that filled the 3 1/2 yr gap between my two boys. At 24 I had 4 children 7, 6, 5 & 3 and loved every minute of it. 10 years later it seemed appropriate to have another (daughter). I wish I had 5 more! I am so proud of all of them (as all parents are!). Losing Paul 10 years ago was the toughest test I had to pass. Praise God for faith! My extended family of grandchildren (who mostly live way too far away from me) are my joy. They appear to think I'm special; that sustains me. Living a mile from my youngest daughter, Morgan and her 2 children has been an unexpected adventure and blessing.
I miss Sitka and old friends, but life is extremely good!
