POULTNEY - Lawrence Joseph Ynesta Sr., 58, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, after a short, but courageous, battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born November 25, 1951, in Somerville, N.J., he was the son of the late Peter and Ann Ynesta Jr. of Wells, Vt. He was educated in New Jersey and relocated to Vermont in 1977 with his wife of 35 years, Deborah (Napolitano) Ynesta.

He and his family were communicants of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Roman Catholic Church of Fair Haven, Vt.

Larry worked more than 40 years in the produce industry being employed by Grand Union in Fair Haven and Manchester, Vt., Hannaford in Glens Falls, N.Y., and Rutland, Vt. He was most recently employed at Price Rite in Glens Falls as the produce manager.

He was very active in scouting and served as Scout Master and Commissioner in N.J. and Vt. for 20 years. He also coached youth baseball for many years in Poultney. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his father, Peter Ynesta Jr., and his mother, Ann Ynesta, of Wells, Vt., and his two nephews, Peter Ynesta IV of Rochester, N.Y., and Kenneth Ynesta Jr. of Wells, Vt.

Larry is survived by his wife, Deborah of Poultney; one daughter, Maureen Ynesta and her fiancé Brad Griffin of Randallstown, Md.; two sons, Lawrence J. Ynesta Jr. and his wife Yani of Rutland, Vt., and Nolan Ynesta of Poultney, Vt.; one granddaughter, Gabbriel Griffin of Randallstown, Md.; one sister, Maryann Angiolillo and her husband Frank of Wells, Vt., and four brothers, Peter Ynesta III and his wife Patti of Rochester, N.Y., George Ynesta, Roy Ynesta and Kenneth Ynesta Sr. and his wife Raechel, all of Wells, Vt.; two aunts, three uncles and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Roman Catholic Church, 10 Washington St., Fair Haven, Vt. The Reverend James A. Lawrence, pastor, will officiate the Mass.

Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to a reception at the Wells Fire Department on Route 30 in Wells.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date in the family lot in the Wells Cemetery, Wells, Vt.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home, 266 Allen Ave., Poultney, Vt.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Michael G. Angiolillo Funeral Home, 210 Broadway, Whitehall, N.Y.
