James Wagoner

James Lee “Wags” Wagoner, age 73 of South Haven, passed away Friday, November 6. Born in  Williamsport, Indiana, Jim moved to South Haven in 1947, graduated from South Haven High School in 1960, and served in the U.S. Navy for four years.  He worked as an electrician for IBEW Local 131 for 36 years. During his retirement Wags enjoyed biking and hiking with his wife, Chris, taking many memorable trips to the national parks, Ecuador, and Australia.

Jim is survived by his wife, Christine, to whom he was married for 31 years, his daughter Jamie (Steven) Pentinga, his son Darren (Joan) Wagoner, and his grandchildren Lindsey Pentinga, Kurt, Matthew, and Nadyra Wagoner.  He is also survived by his stepmother Millie Rigozzi, his brother Danny (Shirley) Wagoner, his sister Jean (Karl) Malmstrom, and his sister-in-law Sandy Wagoner.

He is preceded in death by his parents James F. and Millie (Dee), his brother Larry and his sister Kathy.

The family is very grateful to Hospice at Home for their guidance and help. Respecting Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service will be held. I Donations may be made in Jim’s memory to AlVan Humane Society or Hospice at Home.
