Senior English - of all the great teachers at South Pas High, Mrs. Lauer was the one who influenced me the most. Gosd Bless you Miss Lauer. Neal McLaughlin, Class of '49
Oh, Mrs. Lauer, how I wished I'd not been so full up of myself and my teenage life that I would've treasured you--as I now do realize you were a marvelous teacher and I simply missed out. But I am now able to say my thanks to you--anyway and in spite of! Bits of you must have wiggled their way into me, as I fondly remember the English class, you as my teacher, and I am now a writer. Thanks! Patti Wing Iverson
It was an honor and privilege to have been in your English classes for several years. Not only did I learn to appreciate good lititure, but I also learned the importance of writing correctly and effectively.
Had the opportunity to be a proof reader for two publications. Because of your influence, I was able to assist the author in making certain that his work was correct in punctuation and in other small details.
Treasure the fact that we corresponded after my gracuation from Stanford School of Nursing.
Every time I sit down to write a letter or a note to a friend, you come to mind. I thank you for all I discerned about how to write effectively; an art acquired under your tutelage.
Your influence in my life has been profound. Thank you ever so much
Dear Ms. Lauer ! How I remember the twinkle in your eye when I showed up in your office when you were Dean of Women !! I had to leave Ms. Sowards class for laughing, and when I had to tell you about what happened , you could hardly keep a straight face ! How very special you were to so many !
