Albert Adams, 80; Musician
Memorial services for Albert J. Adams, 80, retired head of the music department of South Pasadena High School, will be held Wednesday, at St. James Episcopal Church, South Pasadena.
Mr. Adams, who died February 3, 1973, taught music appreciation, glee club, organ, and piano at South Pasadena High for 36 years. He lectured extensively and was organist at the Methodist Church in South Pasadena and St. James Episcopal Church.
He was born in Denver, Colorado on March 16, 1892, and studied music in Berlin and Paris. Mr. Adams leaves two daughters, Mrs. Alberta Doan and Miss Harriet Adams; two brothers, Phillip and Charles Adams; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. His wife of more than 50 years, Hattie Mae, died several months ago.
