POST-REUNION WRAP UP

Well, I hope everyone is back to health after the 20-year reunion this last weekend!  For those of you who couldn't make it, we missed seeing you back in SSC, and you missed a hell of a good time!  I think we estimated between 70-80 classmates attended, and with spouses we were probably over 100 in attendance both nights.  I wanted to pass on some final notes to everyone as we wrap this one up and look forward to the 25-year reunion in 2014.

SHARING PICTURES - As much as I think most of us have enjoyed this website, it unfortunately doesn't have a section for all classmates to post & share pictures from the reunion...only the administrator can upload photos unless you put them in your profile section.  It sounds like the website will be providing this ability come late this year, but for now we don't have an easy way to share photos here.  If you want, you are more than welcome to email your photos to the site administrator and I will get them uploaded.  In addition, I'd recommend all of you sign up on Facebook, join the SSC Class Of 89 group, and look at all of the pictures being uploaded out there (so far I've seen Carol Graves, Heidi Hingst, Burke Lake, and Tracy Sell's....I just posted a slideshow and more are being added every day).  Also a reminder that you can still contact photographer Jim Utterback who took the class picture and many photos from both nights.....you can purchase an 8x10 class photo and a CD with all of his pictures from both nights for $20.  He can be reached at 712-204-9793 or at www.utterbackphoto.com.  Finally, it will take some time to finish off all of the disposal cameras we had set out, get them developed, and put online.  I'll send an email once we have them available and posted, but it may be a little while on that one.  Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions on sharing pictures.

THANK-YOU'S:  I'm sure I will inadvertently miss some folks we should mention, but really need to thank the following people for their help on the reunion:  Traci Benson and Stefani Blessing for their help in keeping the class contact list up to date over the past several years and helping locate classmates.  Kathy Archer for helping with arrangements at The Huddle and bringing supplies on Saturday night.  Kris Lutt for helping arrange conference calls in getting things set up and for sending out letters to classmates not registered on the website.  Brook Lange for helping make many arrangements back in SSC and really helping kick-start the process early this year.  Nicole Allen for surprising everyone with commemorative coozies Saturday night.  And thank you to everyone else I missed who helped with the reunion in any way!

WEBSITE AND 2014:  The plan is to keep the website up and running so it is much easier to get things pulled together in 2014 for our 25 year reunion.  In addition, it's fun for classmates to keep in contact and up to date.  To that end, we need your help in keeping your contact information up to date on the website, and also continue to spread the word and help us find any missing classmates who have not yet registered on the website.

FINAL REUNION DETAILS!

OK, its pretty much a last-minute update, but nothing really has changed in the final schedule except some clarification around golf and some other minor info.  Here is the "final-final" updated schedule....please email ASAP if you have questions before Friday! 

• Friday 7/17:  7:00PM -No change here...informal get together/bar-hop, starting at The Huddle (110 E 8th St - SSC).  Should  point out there is a good chance we will wander across the street to Fatty's sooner than later that night....so if you show at the Huddle after 9:00pm and its barren, I'd recommend checking out Fattys (go in the north entrance)!
  
• Saturday 7/18:  Golf - Time change, pushing this back to 11:00am.  We had times reserved at both South Ridge and Whispering Creek, and I tried to contact as many interested folks as possible for their opinion/votes this week......the tally says we go with Whispering Creek.  Burke Lake was kind enough to get us tee times starting at 11:00am on Saturday, so please be there well in advance so we can group people up and get out on time.  Here is my headcount list at this time:  Confirmed:  Craig Warnock, Ned Tramp, Kricket Cowden & husband, Burke Lake, Brent Hunter, Kris Lutt, Jeremy Archer, Russ Mogensen, Jeff Goergen, Nicole Allen, Chad Allen.  RSVP'd Interest But I Couldn't Reach Them To Confirm/Vote (My Guess Is They Are Playing, Not Positive On Headcount): Christine Bostwick, Jennifer Casey, Larry Gill, Marty Klassen, Tim Varvais, Jean Major.  In addition, Jenny Johnson's husband is a maybe right now.  We have 5 tee-times right now to accomodate that group, so please let me know right away if you want to play but are not on this list so can see what we can swing, as space is tight.
  
• Saturday 7/18:  11:00AM - Kids Get Together - Scenic Park in SSC.  Again, no changes from prior plans.....just an informal opportunity for classmates to meet wtih kids and families in the park and visit.
  
  
• Saturday 7/18:  7:00PM - Reunion At Harmony Lanes in SSC...no big changes from prior plan.  We will provide pizza at around 8:00-9:00pm, and since Warnock, Utterback, and Ericksen have confirmed their attendance, went ahead and bought 2 kegs as well.  Otherwise we wanted to keep things laid back and inexpensive for everyone, with cash bar and bowling available for everyone.  If you don't want pizza or bowling alley food, we'd recommend you eat before  joining the party!
  

Again, we've tried to keep this as informal as possible, and avoided asking everyone to pay $$ up front for formal dinners, etc.  We will have a "donations" bucket Saturday night to help cover pizza & beer, but that's the extent of our fundraising capacity!  We are hopeful this would encourage as many classmates as possible to make it back to SSC and spend some time catching up.  We are sure everyone who can make it back will have a great time, and it still looks like we will have a great turnout (we're estimating over 80 classmates and over 120 people with spouses).

One final note - remember to bring your cameras!  We are looking to create a shared website where everyone can upload their photos to share from the reunion, and will have disposable camera at Harmony for everyone to take some photos, as well as a photographer Saturday night for a group picture.
