My leg itches. Should I scratch it? Pros and cons - discuss...

"The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting."

I have decided NOT to scratch, but to ignore the itch!!

Thereby defeating the enemy without engaging it!

Sun Tzu was a good pal of mine at SL. We hung out behind C hall and got all philosophical, IF you know what I mean...

Mr. Miagi say, "you train so you don't have to fight"

Just curious. Who's the front runner for "favorite teacher"?

I think Mr. Swords should be best teacher. He and Mr. Hutchison were the only 2 teachers to make me care about coming to school.

I liked Mr Swords and I really started off on the wrong foot with Mr. Hutchison, but they both challenged me and I appreciated it. I even did some work outside of school with Mr. H for his church and we laughed about how stubborn we both were.

I also did work for Mr. Hutchison at his church, Calvery Lutheran. I played for his softball team. It was great fun.

it's a small world...I also helped Mr. Mills hang trusses on his brother's garage, don't tell me you worked for him too!

I'd have to put Nancy and "Crazy" Ed Waites into the mix for best husband/wife teaching team.

I don't remember any teachers. Hahahahaha For real not one! Wait! I do remember that English teacher who made us learn all those crazy words. A little balding short man what was his name?

Julie Carr (Werthmann)

Wait is this Southfield Lathrup?? I have no idea who these two teachers are......What's up with that

Scott Bernstein

I think it was Mr.Kish

Mr. Kish! You are so right! Thank you Scott! Now my next question is does anybody remember or use any of those damn words that he made us all learn?

Thanks for setting this site up. I've connected to so many SLRs. Looking forward to reunion, although have to thank Andrea Jorien and Amy Thomas for that one.

just called the westinn. they have two rooms available through their reservation area that are two beds, I called the holiday inn express and they have more options but at 149 per night through their reservation desk, I opted to go online and get a room through the holiday inn express website and got a suite with a king bed for 94 after taxes and fees, just thought I would throw that out there

I'll throw a couple names out there - Mr Willobee (Chemestry) I think his class was one of the few I enjoyed and didn't mind homework from. Or Dave Helfman, he helped teach me to swim when I was a little tike.

See you all in a couple weeks!

Mr. Sleete. Mr. Pound were the best teachers. I used to collect money in Mr. Pounds class so we could have donuts once a week. Also, Mr. Ferger for GGI. Anyone remember him. We used to write our own hall passes from his room, as long as we brought him a bagel or pizza back it was cool. Memories...

Caryn Sherline (Weckstein)

No one mentioned Mr. Ogden! He was THE BEST! Hall passes for bagel runs, he went on the senior cruise with us, I even remember his "shark" mobile. By far, my favorite teacher. Other greats were Mr. Finn, Mr. Kish, that crazy math teacher lady - can't remember her name, and Mr. Mills for physics (aka the General).

Amy Averbuch (Dunn)

I have to agree with Robert. Mr. Sleete was the best. He actually turned learning American History into a game. Sorry I'll miss seeing you all at the reunion but I would love to hear what everyone has been up to.

By far it was Mr. Sleete. To this day I think about him when I teach my students in social studies class. He made us care. Ogden, Pound, Kish were pretty awesome as well. See you all soon.

Marla Collins (Raboi)

I also agree Mr. Sleete was the best!! He was such a great teacher, he just made learning fun. Some of us were really lucky, we had him at Birney and the again at SL.
