Virginia Creer (Hansen)

Virginia (Ginger) Hansen, age 58, passed away on June 17, 2020, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 25, 1962, the daughter of Howard and Joyce Creer. She grew up in Spanish Fork, graduating from Spanish Fork High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Shane Hansen. They were blessed with three children: Zac, Karlee, and Katelyn. Ginger and Shane were married on February 24, 1984, and enjoyed an amazing relationship. Shane was the love of Ginger’s life. They were most happy when they were spending time together at home cooking dinner, watching movies, and enjoying family.

Education was very important to Ginger. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from BYU. She went on to take many courses which enabled her to become a facilitator and mentor teacher in Nebo School District. Ginger was a dedicated educator and facilitator for 33 years. Making a difference in the lives of students and teachers was her passion.

Ginger enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved attending music festivals, taking trips to Lake Powell, and riding in the Jeep with Shane. She also lived her life enjoying the simple moments from sunrises and sunsets on her deck to cuddling her grandchildren as they slept. Her family meant everything to her. She was the mother who did not miss a dance competition or a ball game. She loved being a grandma to Hudson and Mallie. They were her heart and soul.

Friendship was important to Ginger, and she was a friend to everyone she met. She had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She brought laughter to every occasion. Many consider her among their closest friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Shane Hansen; and her three children, Zachary (Karlee Jo) Hansen, Karlee (Tanner) Gull, and Katelyn (Tyler) Weight. She is also survived by her mother, Joyce Creer; brothers: Mike (Tracey) Creer, and Clayton (Carolyn) Creer; sisters: Calleen Argyle, and Patty (Bob) Chappel; and by her two beautiful grandchildren, Mallie and Hudson. Ginger was preceded in death by her father, Howard Creer; brothers-in-law, George Argyle and Paul Liston; and mother-in-law, Karen Havekost.

There will be a graveside service at the Spanish Fork Cemetery on Tuesday, June, 23, 2020 at 11 a.m.  Those who would like to honor Ginger and attend are welcome to do so.
