Christopher Scott Roberts, 42, of Sparta, passed from this life, on Jan. 9, 2017.

Born Friday, April 12, 1974, in Sparta, he was the son of Fred Roberts and Bonnie Cole Roberts.

He was a member of the Athens Church of Christ. Mr. Roberts served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Iraq War. He enjoyed watching football and other sports.

Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Laura Cole and Whitley and Bessie Roberts, as well as several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include three sons, Casey Roberts, of Sparta,

Brandon Roberts, of Sparta, Brock Rosson, of Nashville; mother of his children, Vikki Garrett, of Sparta; parents, Fred and Bonnie Roberts, of Sparta; three brothers, Jerry Roberts and wife Erica, of Sparta, Jeff Roberts and wife Susan, of Decatur, Alabama, Albert Cole and wife Canella, of Sparta; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Jan. 14, 2017, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Elrod Cemetery. Gene Bray will officiate. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Jan. 14, at the funeral home.
