I've been a boring, worker bee. I live in the mountains and work in Denver so have a long commute, which leaves little time for much of the life in the mountains that we live up here for. I married Tom in 1998 (my 2nd, his 4th) and so far, so good.
I like to travel - never get enough of seeing new things - and like to read. I'm starting to get in to bird watching because with climate change, we are getting new birds moving in to our area.
My job was being phased out and wanting to prove I was could still learn at my advanced age, I got my Masters in Professional Accountancy within days of my 65th birthday (2014).
Bird watching was just a phase, I'm afraid. I don't have the patience!
I live my adventures through my kids. Lisa is a sub-sub-subcontractor for the Dept of Defense in Washington DC, leading a team combining several branches of the military into 1 payroll system. This is similar to what she did for the University of Colorado. She commutes home to Dever, CO every weekend because her husband Richard (high school administrator) and 2 sons (Andrew 14 and Matthew 9) go to school here. Karen left the Denver Public School system as a special ed teacher when the bureacracy became too much. This leaves her free to travel with her husband Bill who is self-employed as a coatings and welding inspector. They have ridden their tandem bike through Switzerland and France and are well on their way to Karen's bucket list of 50 miles in all 50 states. Many of the US trips involve pulling the special wagon for her yellow lab.
High school revolved around band, drama, and Spanish class for me. Does anyone else remember Bill O'hearn refusing to play something related to the Star Spangled Banner and Mr. Dean walking out of practice because of it? Or do I have this whole story wrong. The coldest I ever remember being in my life was during November early morning marching band practice.
Most people don't remember that I missed all of second semester junior year because I was bopping around South America with my folks. I also missed second semester senior year because I eloped over Christmas with Larry Lynch (SHS class of '67). I actually graduated from West High in Minneapolis.

Happy birthday Jon. You deserve a good one and many more. So enjoyed the reunion and classy, class mug you made is safely ensconced in my china hutch, right in front of my favorite wine glasses.
