 Tragically, we have lost a great classmate. He will be missed. The following is a summation of the accident:
Adam was picking up a big van for a catering gig. He hopped out of the van to do something and inadvertently left the van in reverse. The door was open and knocked him down. He was struck by the door and he fell under the van, which ran him over. He died of trauma to the head/chest. He died instantly with no suffering.

Adam Masahiro Ike, beloved son, brother, uncle, partner, friend, and chef passed away September 28, 2008 in a tragic accident. Adam brought tremendous passion and joy to everything he did – from preparing a meal to taking care of those around him. He met you with his full heart, unafraid to cherish and love us all. There is no way to describe the intensity of the love felt around Adam. We will each keep this love inside us to help fill the giant loss he leaves with his passing. Adam leaves behind his father and mother, Andy and Elaine Ike; his baby brother, sister-in-law, and niece, Ryan, Brooke, and Annacora Ike; his partner, Allison Tarr, who brought him true love and contentment the past 2 years; his aunts, Alicia Chadwick and Paula Hoy; and the hundreds of friends he touched in his nearly 37 years. We say goodbye with a heavy heart. Funeral Services were held at St. Teresa’s Church at 390 Missouri St. San Francisco, CA 94107 at 4pm on Thursday, October 2, 2008. A second memorial will be on Friday Harbor, San Juan Islands, WA at a later date.
