Comments:

Returned to Greece in Aug.1959, finished my studies and first taught Greek at the Amer.Dependants'school at the Amer.Air.Base on Crete, then started teaching English at a private school here in my hometown , got married in 1966, opened my own foreign language school ,had my two children still married to the same lovely guy who has met and loved some of my school friends in Vt., namely John Follett and Winifred, Pat and Neil Martin, Pat Boyce, Sally and Terry Ryan and of course AUNT MARY DOTEN WHO HAD VISITED US HERE AND VICTORIA LEMAY who we had also visited again and again in Vt.
I am still running all three schools with myolder son and daughter in law and 16 teachers with 2 secretaries.
Have been member and chairman to a lot of local volunteer associations. etc.etc.
Have loved my school year in Springfield and keep the sweetest memories from my school life there.

School Story:

Some lovely scenes during lunch break when classmates were teasing me for my foreign accent and when a classmate told me when asked what he was going to study-to be an undertaker-for Greece at the time it was the poorest and worst job any sensible man could have chosen. When I looked up the word in the dictionary I could not believe my eyes. Of course here now it is the best paid job without losses or market ups and downs.
I have a lot of other stories some of which I would like to share with you if I finally make it to Vt. in June (don't forget the swine flue....)
Another story....

I do remember and recall every single moment I had with all of you while being in Springfield Vt. as an exchange student staying with Pat Boyce who unfortunately passed away two years ago. So sad. But I am so happy I keep in touch with Pat Martin (Follett) her husband Neil and her brother's family John and Winifred whose friendship has been a treasure for me. I hope and wish to make it for a class reunion next year ( 2018) as things are quite bad for Greece right now. Good luck to all of you my very very dear friends. The photo below is from my foreign language school which I still direct ..now as a master chef..with my little pupils...PICNIC IN THE SCHOOL GARDEN. The second photo is with some of my greek classmates having a snack at a local traditional tavern in the centre of the city.
