Sandra "Sandy" Gilchrist, 77, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, December 4 at Springfield Hospital.

She was born October 23, 1943 in Springfield, the daughter of Leonard J. and Virginia H. (Jardine) Lynds.

She attended Springfield schools, and graduated from Springfield High School. Sandy married Kenneth C. Gilchrist on May 1, 1965 in North Springfield; he predeceased her in August of 1982.

She was employed at Jones & Lamson Machine Tool Company in Springfield, FairRite in Springfield, and retired in 2008 from Dufresne-Henry where she worked as General Clerk for 10 years. Sandy enjoyed visiting with her many friends and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her brother, Leonard J. "Lucky" Lynds, Jr. and his wife, Janet of Springfield; and nieces,nephews, and cousins.

Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Virginia; her husband, Kenneth; and one brother, William Lynds.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9 at Oakland Cemetery in Springfield. Reverend George Keeler, Pastor of the North Springfield Baptist Church, will officiate. Due to Covid-19 it is requested that all in attendance please wear a mask or face covering.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to North Springfield Baptist Church, PO Box 23, North Springfield, VT 05150; or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
