SPRINGFIELD - Kerry S. Matuszewski, 64, died March 11, 2008, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., following a long time of failing health.

He was born July 19, 1943, in Springfield, the son of Stephen and Nina (Waida) Matuszewski.

He graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1961, and later attended Manchester (N.H.) College.

Mr. Matuszewski served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam with the combat engineers.

He was employed as public works director for the town of Springfield from 1982 to 1984 and later worked operating computer systems for Holson Co. in Claremont, N.H.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Springfield, Robert L. Johnson V.F.W. Post 771 in Springfield, American Legion Post 67 in Chester, the NRA, a life member of the DAV and Paralyzed Veterans of America, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and Wildlife Federation.

Survivors include his mother of Springfield; a son, Scott Matuszewski; and a granddaughter.

The graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery in Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD - The graveside service for Kerry S. Matuszewski, 64, who died March 11, 2008, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in St. Mary's Cemetery in Springfield. The Rev. Peter Williams, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, will officiate.

Military honors will be provided by Robert L. Johnson VFW Post 771 in Springfield.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
