SPRINGFIELD - Word has been received of the death of Jill Alger Osborne, 41, of Lanikai, Oahu, Hawaii, and formerly of Springfield, who died Monday morning in Hawaii following a long illness. 

Mrs. Osborne was born in Springfield May 17, 1944, the daughter of John C. and Tanya (Shinkevich) Alger. 

She was a graduate of Springfield High School and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1966. 

Survivors include her parents of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; her husband, Peter Dowsett Osborne of Lanikai; two daughters, Tara Kaleialoha Osborne and Laura Kaumana Osborne, both of Lanikai; two brothers, John C. Alger Jr. of West Berlin, N.J., and Robert P. Alger of Springfield; two nephews and a niece. 

A memorial service will be held Thursday in Hawaii and also at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Springfield at a later date.
