Sharon Gibson (Laplante)

SPRINGFIELD - Sharon G. Laplante, 60, died Jan. 11, 2005, at Springfield Hospital. 

She was born Dec. 21, 1944, in Hartford, the daughter of Clinton and Thelma (Woods) Gibson. 

She attended Springfield schools. 

She married Richard A. Laplante on March 24, 1961. 

Mrs. Laplante was employed by the town of Springfield as a dispatcher and secretary to the chief of police. She later worked at Ames Department Store in Springfield. 

Her hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, playing bingo, bowling and crocheting. 

Survivors include a son, Richard Laplante Jr. of Windsor; two daughters, Linda Hutt of Cornish, N.H., and Lou Ann Prior of Windsor; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Gibson of Springfield; a sister, Phyllis Thibodeau of Claremont, N.H.; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Laplante was predeceased by her husband in 2002, and a brother, Clinton Gibson Jr. 

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield. 

There will be no visiting hours.
