ROCKINGHAM - Jon J. Humphrey Sr., 54, died Sunday at Springfield Hospital. 

He was born July 31, 1944, in Springfield, son of James and Irma (Hayward) Humphrey.

He graduated from Springfield High School. 

He married Barbara Scott on Feb. 5, 1998, in Chester. 

Mr. Humphrey worked for Fellows Gear Shapers in Springfield for 34 years. 

He had belonged to the local UE 218 in Springfield for many years. 

He was previously married to Sharon Hitchcock. 

He enyoyed horse-pulling. 

Survivors include his wife of Rockingham; two daughters. Heather LeClair of Brattleboro and Melissa Humphrey of Springfield; a son, Jon Humphrey Jr. of West Townshend; two stepsons, Tim Arbuckle and Tom Arbuckle, both of Chester, seven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Hoag, two brothers, James Humphrey and Mart Humphrey, and twin daughters, Sonia and Tonia. 

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Chester, with the Rev. Thomas Charlton officiating. 

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 pan. at Adams-Gendron Funeral Home in Chester.
