Welcome to the Springhill High Class of 1986 web site. This website is for everyone who went to school with our class, whether  you graduated or not, or moved away before graduation.  Since we never got around to organizing a 20 year reunion, I thought we should at least organize a 25 year reunion. That will give us plenty of time to get it right. If you are in contact with some fellow classmates from the Class of 86, please invite then to join this site. First Human To Fly In Space ( 1984 ) Astronaut Bruce McCandless unhooked a lifeline and became the first human to fly free in space , using a gas-powered jet-pack to propel himself nearly 300 feet away from the Earth-orbiting U.S. space shuttle Challenger and back again

Embargo Imports From Cuba
7th February ( 1962 ) : A U.S. embargo ordered by President Kennedy will go into effect on all imports from Cuba including tobacco, seafood, fruits and vegetables

Bush Fires Kill 62
7th February ( 1967 ) : 125 separate bush fires in southern Tasmania claim 62 lives, 900 injured and over seven thousand homeless The city of Hobart is encircled by fire leaving 52 dead just in that area, in total the fires burned over 1/2 million acres of land


Women Get The Vote 7th February ( 1971 ) Women in Switzerland were granted the right to vote today there are only five other countries who still continue to bar women from the polls, the Arab states of Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and tiny Liechtenstein.
