Our classmate and friend Gene and his older brother Bill both went to Lindenwood grade school (a few blocks west of Tilles Park on Jamieson) after leaving St. Gab's. Gene then went to Southwest High School. He's buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
The last time I spoke with Gene was in the middle '70's at a bar at So. Kingshighway and Gravois, called Better Days which was owned and operated by St. Gabriel graduates, Tim Hummel and Mike Yates. Gene and his wife would go there to play "foosball".
