Hey guys, let me apologize for not posting updates on a more regular basis!!! Well this year we had a great season in Track and Field and we are going to build on it in the coming season. We made 5 finals and 4 semi-finals at this years Boys and Girls championships. We also won a bronze medal in the class one girls 200m which was a  major achievement for the athletes and the school. However, to top of a great season Jodean Williams and Titania Markland became National Junior 200m Silver medalist and 800m Bronze medalist respectively at the National Junior Championships. Therefore, Jodean and Titania went on to represent Jamaica at the Central America and  Caribbean Games (CAC games) in San Salvador -El Salvador. Jodean was the bronze medalist in the Under 20 girls 200m and TItania finished 5th in the Under 20 girls 800m  finals. However, Titania ran the lead leg of the 4x400m relay team which won gold. After returning from the CAC games on the 4th of July Jodean left the following day for the World Junior Championships in Barcelona-Spain. she won her heats in a PB of 23:88sec and finished  fourth in the semi-finals in a time of 23:94. They told me that it was a good experience and were proud to represent         St mary High  and run in the national colours

These two girls are the most sort after athletes in the country right now both locally and internationally as more than 10 universities in the USA are contacting me about them as well as UWI (Racers track club) and Utec (MVP) track club are also in the hunt. This has been a huge motivation for the program as more athletes are turning out for training. Last year I started out with about 70 athletes so I   just imagine the turn out for the new season.
