James passed away while wrestling on the team for Western Maryland College during his freshman year. At the time of his death, our SMHS Class of '77 presented his parents with a tree for them to plant in his memory.
James and I went to the junior prom together and also Western Maryland College. He died in 1978 his freshman year. It was so sudden. He was having a great time in college. We were both in the college concert band and pep band. The college is small so we saw each other all the time. He had many friends and was working hard on a music major. Music was really his passion. He had a quick wit and a gentle way about him. He was a great listener and a good person. He died way too young.
