Acted professionally, worked in TV behind the scenes, moved into IT technology. Still write screenplays, make faith movies on the side. Some guys have boats or motorcycles or play golf... I make movies.
School Story:
I never considered myself popular by ANY stretch of the imagination. To be honest, I'd be surprised if anyone remembered me at all. I felt pretty invisible back then.
However, I was lucky enough to be in a school play called Look Homeward, Angel. At the end of the first act my character is shown in bed with a woman (Karen Hoban) after a night together. During our school performance, everyone whistled and hooted. Funny.
Anyway, a few days later a cute girl I had never spoken with approached me, told me how she liked the performance and then told me that "I could wake up next to her anytime."
I was shocked. The day before I was a nobody, now I was a somebody... at least for a few days.
I never took her up on the offer, of course, but it made me realize just how powerful the whole "fame" thing could be on people... even on a little high school level.
A weird moment, to be sure, but memorable, none-the-less.
Episode One - Judgement Day
In the first episode of Purgatory, USA, Nikki finds out she has to spend the summer with her flaky, energetic cousin, Babs. Nikki battles her own bias and preconceived ideas about Babs and the summer that lies ahead.
A grayer, older me.

While on vacation in NY, at Battery Park looking at the Statue of Liberty, my family and I were interviewed by Fox News. It ended up as part of their Real American Stories promotion. That, in turn, ended up with us being interviewed live on Fox News in July '08. A strange journey, but fun!
You can see the promo they put together at RealAmericanStories.com... click on My Story and then scroll down to find Pete and Dea Bauer.
