Sherwood Brewing Company brews delicious beers and wines and I'm sure they would love to accomodate a pre-reunion party! Let me know if you're interested and we'll talk... :0)

Isn't the date for the reunion on Thanksgiving weekend? That's going to be tough for a lot of people don't you think?

Hi Michelle,

Thanks for posting the date. If you all haven't found a hall, may I suggest The Sterling Inn. It's located on Van Dyke in Sterling hts. I was at a wedding held there last fall. The hall was beautiful, good food and the room rates were good. Also, i would like to attend the next meeting to see where I could help out.

Hi all!
We have a place all picked out, just finalizing prices, contracts etc. We hope to be able to post all the info very soon. We chose November 28 for numerous reasons, the two main reasons being that 1) our 10 year was that weekend and we had a great turnout, and 2) based on all our research in planning, that weekend has large turnouts overall for reunions. While we may not be able to please everyone, we are doing what we can to accomodate the majority. We truly appreciate all the input that people have given, and have looked at every idea/recommendation thoroughly. We believe everyone will be happy when we annouce the details!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email directly by choosing my profile and then email.
Thanks,
Michelle

Michelle,
What do you think of the idea of also honoring our classmates and/or their spouses that have and are still serving in the Armed Forces? Also Police officers, Firefighters and EMTs? It takes courage and strength to fight for what is right and to keep all of our families safe. I am sure if we recognize them by asking them to stand up so we can give them a standing ovation...would be much appreciated by all those who desreve to be recognized.
Thank you,
Rachelle

Hello All, and Michelle!
It's great seeing everyone excited about a 20 year~ (crazy, huh?) I'm planning on coming in Thanksgiving and staying til the next week. Since I'm out of town, I'm not sure what use I can be....but I would love to help. I've always loved photos...
I could collect photos from the masses to share that evening (create a photo book history, or slideshow...)
You might already be on that... I volunteer myself regardless. (I'm sure I can convince Kristin O/Schihl to partner up with me!)
Please Please let me know. Would love to help!

I think a pre-reunion gathering at Sherwood Brewing is a great idea.

What does everyone thing about the bar night being without spouses so that we can all reconnect without being concerned about our spouse feeling excluded.

Just a thought...

Thank you so much for all the research and thought that went into all this! The Rochester Hotel is a GREAT place. Can't wait to see the photos you come up with Laura! Makes me smile just to think of it- all that big puffy hair (girls and guys), lots of plaid shorts (girls and guys again), our pants rolled up at the ankles... The 80s were stylistically challenged and a LOT of fun. :-)

This website is SWEET!.....sound 80's or what? Well its still Sweet! I finally checked it out myself. Kris has done the initial set up without pictures.......so I have to talk to her about that. Its great going through everyone's photos.......so please can everybody put some family or personal photos on this site so everyone can check them out. See you all in November!

Hey Dave!

Thanks for the post! Just wanted to clarify on the the Ike reunion... it was not open bar. They received two drink tickets and had a appetizer buffe. I definitely have heard great things about it, and they had a great turnout.

That said, when the reunion committee selected a place, we did LOTS of research on what other schools were doing for their reunions. Those schools included Ike, Utica, Stevenson, Troy, Athens, Rochester Adams, Chippewa, etc. We are right in the ballpark with cost. In fact, we are pretty confident that based on the location, the food, the open bar, etc we have a really good price.

As far as changing the location, yep, it is way too late. When we started planning, we had some people offer to help via email, and I spoke with some people over the phone and did get some good ideas, some of which we are using. Unfortunately, when push came to shove, only those listed on the reunion committee website showed up for the committtee meetings. Based on our work, efforts and research, we felt this was the best type of reunion for our 20 year.

Take care, Michelle and the reunion committee

As your class president I am very thankful that the members of the reunion committee took time out of their their busy schedules to secure such an elegant location to celebrate this milestone in our lives.

I have been out state for a number of years and I challange anyone to find a nicer venue, food and drink included, for a better value. Sorry,Deja Vue doesn't count.

If you have read earlier posts I suggested Dodge Park, some KFC, Strohs 30 packs, cases of 2 liter wine coolers and we could get our families together and teach our kids how to bong beers.

Bonging beers? What's that?

Kristin Orzechowski (Schihl)

Only 65 89ers confirmed for the reunion? Come on...isn't anyone else looking forward to a fun evening away from the kids? There are sure to be lots of laughs! Looking forward to seeing those who show up. I might just bring myself a 2 liter of Sun Country to slam (okay...the thought of that makes me want to puke!)

Hi guys! A group of us have already gotten our rooms at the Royal Park. I was wondering who else is planning on staying the night. It would fun to pre-party. Ryan and I are really looking forward to seeing everyone!

I can't believe it's been 20 years since we graduated,
And only 65 are coming to the reunion as of now.
I also booked my room at the hotel. If people are getting together
Please let me know. I’m really looking forward to seeing all that attend.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a pre-reunion party? Possibly on the Friday before, at a bar. My husbands class did this and they had a huge turnout. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I called the Royal Park Hotel afew weeks ago to get a room and they said they are full.
Got a room at the Spartan Motel down the street, but would like to stay at the Royal Park.
If anyone reserved an extra room or will not need one, drop me a line and I would gladly take over the reservation.
thanks,
