    Charlotte D. (Edwards) Ballard, 72, of Metropolis, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Lourdes Hospital of Paducah, Ky.
    A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac.
    Friends may call one hour prior to services.
    Charlotte was born Oct. 29, 1943, to John and Geneva Edwards. She married Eron Ballard on Feb. 8, 1982.
    Survivors also include three children, Kathy (Tom) Rygh, Odell, Kevin (Jennifer) Shoemaker, Grayslake, and Kelly (John) Eickleberry, Metropolis; one sister, Bernice Ward, Streator; five grandchildren, Heather (Eric) Achuff, Daniel (Samanatha) Legner, Benjamin (Reyna Fearman) Legner, Rachel (Joel Bouagnon) Shoemaker and Ethan Shoemaker; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Legner and Piper Achuff.
    Her parents, one brother and two sisters proceeded her in death.
    Above all, Charlotte loved God and her family. She lovingly tended and cared for God’s Earth by creating gorgeous flower beds surrounding her home. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Murray, Ky., where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Charlotte was an amazing cook and will be remembered as loving wife, mother and grandmother while serving her family, her greatest joy, around the family table.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or the local hospice of the donor’s choice.

So Sorry to hear about  Charlottes passing as we were friends since sunday school at the FUMC. Reconnected when her children were born and then she moved and we lost contact. We had many fun times in our younger yrs. Prayers go out to her family & friends. God bless & R.I.P.
