Patricia J. "Pat" Mateer (1943-2011)
....Born Feb. 23, 1943, in Streator, she was the daughterr of Samuel & Leona(Loebach) Sabino. She married John Mateer on May 24, 1966. He survives.
Also surviving are sons Anthony Scott (Lori) Mateer, Sr. of Streator and Thomas Allen (Amanda) Mateer of Bloomington; a daughter, Amy Marie (Robert) Thomas of Streator; and 7 grandchildren, and 2 brothers.
Pat attended local grade schools, graduated from SHS in 1961, and from Beauty school in Kankakee. She was a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and worked at St. Mary's Hospital for many years.

I met Pat our junior year and we just clicked. We both worked at her dad and uncles store out on N. Bloomington Street next to the Streator Lanes. We were best friends and maintained our friendship to the very end even tho' we lived so far apart. She was my maid of honor when Nick and I got married and Nick stood up for John when they got married. When I converted to Catholism, she was my sponser. Knowing that she's no longer there to see when I go to Streator is going to make it so hard this time, but I know that John is still there and I promised to see him when I'm there for the reunion. I love you, Pat.
