Jerry lived his life to its fullest extent and did it his way and enjoyed every minute. Jerry and I have been through an awful lot together from 1959 on and I truly enjoyed every minute I was with him. Our families were all one big family and will always remain that way. We will miss him but know that he is up there having a really great time.
I am sorry to hear about Jerry. I emailed him April 4 after he posted a profile. Told him I was glad to see he planned to attend the reunion, but not to expect an award for most grandchildren (think De De Schmitz has a lock on that at 12), but more than likely he could be recognized for most GREAT grandchildren! What a terrific life he must have enjoyed with his large family. Jerry, try not to get too rowdy up there with Messrs. Augustine, Phelan, Ryan, et. al.
Jerry, Thanks For The Memories! What great fun we had fishing at Mark Twain Lake many years ago. There is nobody I would rather be fishing with in a hail storm than you. Sitting in a boat wth boat cushions covering our heads was one of the mild memories I have of being with you. The rest of my memories will be kept to myself. You will be missed. REST IN PEACE!
Jerry always teased me about being his very first girlfriend. He had chased me home one time in Kindergarten waving a grass snake he had found at Greeley School. When I finally made it into the back door and was safe, he stood outside and put the snake's head in his mouth. He had such a tremendous personality. To know him, was to love him. God bless you and keep you, Jerry.
