Many years ago, went to a  Dodger game.  After scanning the program, I commented that none of the players were from Streator-IL-Pulse-of-the-Nation.  The woman next to me (out of 19,000+ attendees) said, "I'm from Streator; it's been a while since I was there, and my favorite aunt and uncle are on Hickory Street."  Said their last name was "Katchmar"...I asked, "at 1501?"  She said "yes", and I told her my parents were at 1502 ...my brother and I were home the previous Christmas and shoveled snow from the Katchmar driveway.

When she said her last name was Salata, I indicated there was a really nice guy named John Salata in my HS class...she said you were her nephew.  So you see, John, we're all one big family and never really get too far from one another and/or Streator-IL-Pulse-of-the-Nation.  Peace be with you.

It was so nice to see you and get to visit a little with you the last reunion.  We even talked about your playing your trumpet in our 6th grade class once and I told you how much I had enjoyed it.  You were such a nice boy in grade school.  Rest in peace, John.
